The alleged victim testified that she hoped to begin a relationship with the 25-year-old, and went to his apartment in December 2017 to wait for him to go to breakfast with her.

She claimed that she was sitting on Duke's bed when he came out of the bathroom and said to her, "I want to put a baby in you."

The woman allegedly responded with a confused look and felt awkward as he sat on the bed beside her.

That's when he stood up and forced himself onto her, pinning her down as she tried to push him off, according to her court testimony.

Duke then allegedly pulled her panties and pants off of one of her legs and raped her for 40 minutes.

She said she struggled and pleaded with him to let her go and get off of her.

However, medical records obtained by show that the woman didn't suffer bruising or other injuries as a result.

The woman stared straight ahead as she confirmed to the court that she didn't sustain any serious injuries.

She broke down under questioning by Mark Gruenhagen, Duke's lawyer, and reasoned she was too scared to speak up during her own alleged assault because she knew a woman who was killed during rape.

When Duke stopped, she said she was able to get up, get dressed and quickly flee his apartment.

The woman didn't report her rape to medical staff and police at Community Hospital until later that evening - she had just started a new job and was worried about being fired, she claimed.

In his opening statements, Gruenhagen asserted his client wasn't guilty because the sex was consensual.

Duke allegedly showed up at the woman's job on December 14, the day after she reported the rape.

It's also the same day she said she learned of his engagement from her co-workers.

Duke is on trial for one count of rape and criminal confinement.
