DIEHARD Remainer Mr Stop Brexit will continue to stand outside Parliament yelling in protest of the UK leaving the EU, even after the formal exit last week.

Steve Bray uprooted his life to fully commit to his 'Stop Brexit' protest for the last two years, and he still won't give in.

Last Friday night the UK left the EU at 11pm.

But that won't stop Mr Bray from backing down.

He said he is prepared for the "longest protest ever" and will "not give up" until the UK has rejoined the EU.

He said: "We've gained so much from being in the EU to throw it away like this is a travesty... There's always going to be people here every PMQs on a Wednesday until we re-join the European Union."

Mr Bray has protested every single day MPs were sitting in Parliament since 5 September 2017.

The 50-year-old grandfather has often been spotted in the back of TV cameras yelling "Stop Brexit" and has even gate-crashed interviews with placards.

Brexit supporters were celebrating the UK's departure with a jubilant party on Parliament Square last Friday.

He told BBC: "This is my first ever protest, I was never that political before, but so much is at stake," he said.

Apart from his almost full-time protesting job, Mr Bray is a self-employed rare coin dealer.

He sold some high value coins to fund the campaign and has since made merchandise to sell.

It is not a question of if or when - we will join the EU. It could be 10 years, it could take 50 years, it could turn into one of the longest protests ever

He said: "I sold some of my collection, rather than leave them to the children I thought I would use it to leave them a better future.

Despite 52 per cent of Brits voting for Brexit, Mr Bray is convinced the country should rejoin the EU.

He said:

Mr Bray was attacked last month by Brexit supporters who stole his hat, chased him down the street and tripped him over.

He also had to face the elements when the Beast from the East came in 2018.

He said a member of the House of Lords came outside to give him a coat.

"I've been spat at a few times, assaulted a few times, all very minor things."

"It does take a toll, but the hatred drives me on more than the support.

Mr Bray even ran as a Lib Dem MP in the 2019 election - but secured less than 1000 votes.
