THE son of an 80-year-old pensioner who gushed over saucy details about romps with her toyboy lover 45 years her junior has revealed the saga nearly ripped their family apart.
Iris Jones met Egyptian Mohamed Ahmed Irbriham, 35, on Facebook – with the pair hitting the sack just hours after meeting in person.
And the Brit pensioner left This Morning hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby gasping as she revealed intimate details of her sex life.
Iris had revealed saucy details about her newfound sex life, telling the pair she “couldn’t walk” after using a “whole tube of lube” with her love.
She added: "I felt as if I’d been riding a horse. Saddle sore wasn’t even it.”
But Iris' son Stephen Jones, 53, today told The Sun Online how his mum's surprise romance had threatened to drive apart the family.
He revealed he had been stunned when she confessed to himself and brother Darren, 52, that she was falling for a man she had met on Facebook.
Stephen said: "She revealed that she’d been talking to this guy in Egypt. I didn’t know his age and didn’t really think too much of it.
"Then one day, she came out and said ‘I’m falling for this guy’.
"When I found out his age it caused a lot of friction. My brother didn’t accept it, I was dubious about it because of the age difference.
"Darren took it worse than me. He didn’t want anything to do with it."
But despite her family's doubts, Iris, from the tiny Somerset village of Kewstoke, flew to Cairo to meet Mohamed - with 35 sexless years soon swept away.
WEDDING BELLS
Meanwhile, Iris said: "Darren is worried Mohamed is just after my money and we had a big row which resulted in me asking him to leave the house.
"We have made up since, but I’ve asked him not to talk about it – I don’t want to argue."
Darren’s wife Debbie last night said her husband did not wish to talk about the relationship.
It comes after Iris gushed over her first meeting with Mohamed on national TV.
The OAP left This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield blushing as she told them: "It was pretty rough. We used a whole tube of KY Jelly.
"The thing is, I couldn't walk the next day. I felt as if I'd been riding a horse. Saddle-sore wasn't even it. Anyway, we got over it."
The pensioner is now preparing to fly back out to Egypt walk down the aisle, having said he make her "feel like a virgin again".
And while initially mortified, her son said he now wanted his mum to be given a deal with KY jelly after her hilarious interview.
Mr Jones also hopes to meet Mohamed in person to give his blessing but admits: “I haven’t agreed to call him stepdad yet”.
Iris flew to Egypt in November last year, shortly after Stephen’s own wedding to partner of three years, Sherran, 52.
The unemployed Egyptian, who Sun Online can reveal is divorced and has children of his own, insists the couple's love is real.
And, according to Stephen, the couple enjoy regular midnight oil chats.
He said: "I’ve heard her giggling like a schoolgirl.
"And to be fair, he does seem like a nice guy. I’ve spoken to him a few times with mum in the background.
"We’ve talked about our different lifestyles, his work as a welder and things like that.
"There are little doubts there. I’ve had groups on Facebook messaging ‘we’re afraid your mum has been the victim of a scam’.
"But you have to go with the benefit of the doubt - innocent until proven guilty is how I see it.
“It’s mum’s desire to have this relationship, we need to accept it and let her get on with it. If it goes bad, then it’s ‘we told you so’. But it looks like it’s going in the right direction."
Iris, a former journalist for the Daily Mirror, has had a string of unsuccessful relationships since she divorced her late husband, Gwyn, in the mid-1990s.
But Stephen said he trusted his mum's instincts, saying she could "suss people out" quickly.
He said: "She’s fiercely independent and proud of her strict upbringing.
"She’s got her head screwed on. She’s not daft."
Stephen said his mum now had his full support - and is keen to meet Mohamed, who lives in Giza, south of Cairo.
He argued: "When you are a man and you fall in love with a woman, it doesn’t matter how old she is or what she looks like."
