A FAMILY opened a packet of Jammie Dodgers to discover one thing missing — jam.

Every biscuit had an empty heart-shaped gap in the centre where the fruity filling should be.

April and Gary Moore bought the treats to share with their kids Olivia, 15, Carly, 12 and nine-year-old Kara.

Receptionist April, of Swindon, Wilts, said: “We went shopping in Asda on Sunday and bought two packets.

“We opened them on Monday as a treat for the kids before bed and were all astonished to see that one of them was missing all the jam.

“What’s the point in having quality control if you aren’t going to make sure the jam always gets put in?”

Painter and decorator Gary, 44, added: “I want to know who stole the jam out of my Dodger.”

The kids saw the funny side and have kept the packet as a memento.

Burton’s Biscuit Company said: “Our main focus is baking great biscuits that our customers love so it is certainly disappointing to see our high standards not being met.

"Whilst incidents such as this are very rare, we acknowledge they do occasionally happen. As a gesture of good will, we would like to offer you a replacement pack to make up for the inconvenience caused.”
