THOMAS Markle admitted he lied to Piers Morgan about his daughter Meghan and Prince Harry to make their image "appear better".
The 75-year-old had told the GMB host the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had called him after the wedding to check if he was OK following heart surgery.
But he has now claimed he made up that detail - and hadn't heard from the couple since they tied the knot.
Speaking in an explosive Channel 5 documentary - Thomas Markle: My Story, the American retiree said: "Actually, on the Piers show I lied.
"I said [that] they called me back and they were really concerned about me and I said, ‘Go on your honeymoon, don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine'.
"That was all a lie.”
He added: "So I made their image appear a little bit better."
Thomas Markle had spoken to Good Morning Britain in June 2018, revealing how he felt his daughter had ghosted him after she married Prince Harry.
The dad had missed the wedding in May 2018, unable to walk his daughter down the aisle after undergoing heart surgery.
Speaking on the show, he told hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid he was upset he had not spoken to Meghan, and was still yet to meet Harry. He has still not met his son-in-law, or his eight-month-old grandson Archie.
And in the bombshell interview aired on Wednesday, filmed over a number of days at his home in Rosarito, Mexico, the American blasted his daughter and Harry for not supporting him.
He said: "To them I don’t exist.
"Harry is part of my family - we should be talking.
"Meghan was my most important relationship and my pride and joy.
"I miss Meghan. I miss who she was. I don’t know she is now. That’s the problem."
