BRITS flooded the internet with memes as they mocked a 2.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Stockton-on-Tees this morning.
Shocked locals were woken by the quake about 6am - saying it felt like a "lorry was crashing into their homes", with some fearing they had been burgled.
The US Geological Survey recorded the tremor on Thursday morning.
But after the initial shock wore off, many took to social media as they saw the lighter side of the quake.
One shared photos of a table that had fallen over, joking: "we shall rebuild".
Another said: "Thought I was getting possessed 5.58am by some paranormal s***. A massive roar and my ENTIRE BED SHOOK."
The quake was also reportedly felt in Middlesbrough and Hartlepool.

Another added: "It wasn’t just us then! Our whole house shook and woke us up at 6AM, Stockton on Tees."
Others said their bedroom windows started shaking from the tremor.
One resident Steve Thompson, from Norton, in Stockton-on-Tees, told : "It was a strong 'clump' like a lorry crashing into mine or a neighbour's house.
"Then I started to see friends on Facebook experiencing the same thing. Many trying to rationalise it wondering if someone had fallen out of bed.
"Then we began to realise it had been an earthquake."
