Neighbours fuming as mum-of-two moves into shipping container and two caravans on drive so she can rent out £170k home
FUMING families claim a neighbour from hell has turned their street into a "traveller camp" after using a shipping container on her lawn as a makeshift extension.
The huge steel structure with a wooden box plonked on top has been dumped in Lillie Goddard's front garden along with two caravans.
Raging neighbours claim the mum-of-two is living in the container while renting out her £170,000 detached home in Swindon.
And they say the 44-year-old has been "confrontational" - leaving them no choice but to contact the authorities over the "monstrosity".
But she claims she is "doing the best I can" after being forced out the home when it was deemed unsafe.
Jo Wilson, who lives opposite the property, said: "People have complained about this for months but nothing's been done.
"We feel like the area has been neglected and our concerns always fall on deaf ears.
It looks disgusting - like a travellers' camp.
Neighbour Tracy Bernasconi
"As far as we know, they did not apply for planning permission and have been very confrontational when we talk to them about tidying up the mess or moving the caravans.
"Then, as if that wasn't bad enough, they moved that container next to the house. It's ridiculous."
Tracy Bernasconi said: "It looks disgusting - like a travellers' camp.
"It's not normal or right. I've lived here all my life, 55 years and I've never seen anything like it before. There's a disgraceful mess piling up."
The caravan arrived first in summer last year followed by the container over the Christmas period.
Goddard claims she installed the container to store her possessions moving out last year.
The house is now being rented out to tenants so that she can pay for the cost of the caravan and container.
She has now blasted her neighbours as "racist" and accused them of "causing extra stress and harassment.
The homeowner told the : "I have told the neighbours my story but they do not listen, they get very abusive.
"They request that I just wave a magic wand and make money to resolve the situation quicker then my ability."

Swindon Borough Council has now agreed to investigate and said that early inquiries found that "planning breaches may have occurred".
They will now carry out further investigations to see if Goddard is in the wrong.
A spokesperson added: "We are currently in the process of considering our options and will take appropriate action at the earliest opportunity."
