Tense Kate Middleton seen ahead of Queen’s crunch summit today with Prince Harry and William
KATE Middleton was pictured looking tense today ahead of the Queen's crunch summit with Prince Harry at Sandringham.
The Duchess of Cambridge was seen leaving Kensington Palace today as senior members of the royal family prepare to meet at Sandringham.
Kate, 38, wore her hair back with sparkling earrings and a beige coat as she carried out the school run in the rain this morning.
She is not attending the crisis talks, which were called by the Queen after Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to quit the royal family, and is instead looking after her three children at home.
Kate is understood not to have spoken to Meghan for six months after cutting ties on a royal family WhatsApp group.
It comes after Meghan seemingly ignored Kate’s 38th birthday celebrations at Kensington Palace and flew back to Canada on Thursday.
Meghan and Harry, 35, were also absent for Kate’s birthday weekend at Sandringham last Sunday.
'PUSHED OUT'
Harry and his brother Prince William today issued a joint statement after the source claimed their strained relationship forced the royal split.
According to repeated reports, Harry felt that William was insufficiently welcoming towards Meghan when they first started dating.
Their relationship has apparently not recovered since, but royal insiders have been quick to deny the claims.
The statement, issued today, referred to a "false story" and said the brothers were "deeply, deeply upset" over the "offensive" allegation.
Amid crisis talks and upset at the bombshell, The Sunday Times reported the Duke of Cambridge hopes ones day everyone will "play on the team" again.
He revealed his "sadness" over the tense relationship with his sibling and the splitting of the Royal Family.
WILLS AND HARRY 'RIFT'
Wills is said to have made the remarks days after Harry and Meghan announced they are stepping down as senior royals and plan to spend much of their time abroad.
He said: "I've put my arm around my brother all our lives and I can't do that anymore; we're separate entities. I'm sad about that.
"All we can do, and all I can do, is try and support them and hope that the time comes when we're all singing from the same page."
Her Majesty also aims to sort the Sussexes’ roles, and Meghan, 38, could join in via conference call.
Despite the rift between the brothers, the Queen and Prince Charles’s priority is keeping them united for the sake of the monarchy, insiders have revealed.
William has expressed hope that he and his brother might become closer again but it’s clear Harry is determined to seek a different life.
The meeting comes after it emerged The Sussexes may threaten a tell-all US TV interview to get their way at the royal summit.
