DUCH-LESS OF SUSSEX

Meghan Markle has ‘only spent six hours in Sussex in just one trip’ since becoming Duchess of Sussex

MEGHAN Markle has only spent less than six hours in the county that gave her her title, records suggest.

Prince Harry and Meghan first visited the county of Sussex in October 2018 - five months after they were bestowed with the titles the Duke and Duchess of Sussex following their £32million wedding.

The then happy couple visited some of the region's most well-known sites on a whistle-stop tour which took them to Chichester, Bognor, Brighton and Peacehaven.

In Brighton, they were greeted with cheers while in Peacehaven Meghan went to the aid of one young girl who stood in the crowd in tears.

During the trip the Duke and Duchess viewed the Sussex copy of the American Declaration of Independence during a visit to Edes House.

It remains her only known trip to the county.

The couple arrived for their first appointment at Edes House in Chichester at 10.42am and left the Joff youth centre in Peacehaven at 4.38pm - meaning Meghan has spent just five hours and 58 minutes in the county prior to that trip.

The Sun understands the last time Prince Harry visited the area of his Dukedom was in February 2014 when he attended the Goodwood motor circuit as he met injured servicemen and woman at a charity event.

And in 2010, Prince Harry travelled to Canine Partners in Midhurst to watch puppies being trained to help wounded military personnel and civilians carry out routine activities.
