Air France says it is investigating the incident.

In a statement, the firm said: "Air France confirms that the lifeless body of a stowaway was discovered in the well of the landing gear of the aircraft performing flight AF703 connecting Abidjan (ABJ) to Paris-Charles de Gaulle on January 7, 2020.

"Air France expresses its deepest sympathy and compassion for this human tragedy. An investigation is underway."

In July, a sunbathing Brit narrowly escaped death as a jet stowaway fell 3,500ft into their back garden.

The migrant plunged from the landing gear bay of the Kenya Airways plane over Clapham, South London.

Neighbours told The Sun the body hit with such force it left a crater in the lawn and smashed a path.

The man has still not been identified.
