A DISTURBING video showing a mocked up assassination of Donald Trump has been released by Iranian media as Tehran prepares "severe revenge action" following the death of general Soleimani.
Top military chief Qasem Soleimani was killed in an American drone strike ordered by the US President on Friday.
His death has sparked a tense wait for Iran's response amid fears a devastating war could break out.
A mocked up video showing a fake assassination of Mr Trump has been released by Iranian News Agency Fars.
The clip, shared by Middle East media research institute MEMRI on Twitter, starts with a message "Hey US, if you begin the war we will end the war".
It then shows a man lining up a shot on the president who is giving a speech before looking at a photograph of general Soleimani.
He then puts the picture down and opens fire.
Whilst the agency describes itself as an 'independent news agency' it is a semi-official organisation with links to the Iranian government.
The video comes as the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani issued a warning of revenge to America.
Speaking to reporters yesterday on the sideline of the general Soleimani's funeral he said: "We will show the severe revenge in action," Fars reports.
According to the Independent the news agency also reported comments from Mr Shamkhani where he threatened "13 scenarios of revenge".
However, Independent said the Supreme National Security Council had denied Mr Shamkhani had given the interview and the council was now taking legal action.
Iran has warned America it will "face another Vietnam war" if it doesn't pull troops out of the Middle East.
The chilling warning came after Iranian chief Amir Ali Hajizadeh warned that even the murder of President Trump would not be sufficient revenge for the assassination of General Soleiman.
The Iraq parliament voted to expel US troops from the country following the assassination at a Baghdad airport.
