NOT SO FUNNY

Secret Service wants meeting with comedian George Lopez after joke about Iran ‘bounty’ on Donald Trump

COMEDIANS like George Lopez are being investigated for making jokes about the $80 million Iranian bounty on Trump's head.

Lopez quipped "We'll do it for half" in response to the Chicano World Star's Instagram post regarding the Iranian announcement.

Law enforcement sources have that the Secret Service now wants a word.

US spooks are allegedly currently assessing whether Lopez's quip carries any legitimacy as a threat against the president in a worrying turn of events for the satirist.

Lopez has been harshly criticized by politicians from both sides of the aisle, with many saying the comment was in bad taste.

Timing really was not the Latin comedian's strong point in this case as the joke comes at a time when the Secret Service is already on edge.

SECRET SERVICE ON EDGE

Major US cities and monuments are in lockdown following Iranian threats.

The Secret Service's priority, however, is the President, who is under heightened threat due to his decision to assassinate Iranian General Soleimeni on January 3.

The Secret Service has specialized resources that include sniper teams, special legislative powers and cybersecurity teams to aid their mission to "deter, minimize and decisively respond to identified threats and vulnerabilities".

The Secret Service site states: "part of the Secret Service’s mission of preventing an incident before it occurs, the agency relies on meticulous advance work and threat assessments developed by its Intelligence Division to identify potential risks to protectees."
