Woman falls off 200ft cliff near LA while distracted by her mobile phone… and spends night in agony before being rescued
A WOMAN plunged off a 200ft cliff while looking at her phone - and spent 13 hours in agony on the rocky shore until she was rescued.
Police said the hiker, 32, was distracted by the gadget when she slipped over the edge in Palos Verdes, a southern suburb of Los Angeles in California.
Police lieutenant Doug Kimura said: “She’s lucky that she didn’t succumb to her injuries.
"She’s also lucky that someone heard her screaming with all the wind and noise."
Last month, heart-stopping video showed a Grand Canyon tourist slipping and almost plunging 1,000ft over the edge while posing for a photo with her mum.
In August a yoga enthusiast broke 110 bones plunging 82ft off a balcony while doing a dangerous pose for Instagram.
In July, two Brits fell 30ft to their deaths on Spain's Costa Blanca, reportedly while trying to take a picture with a third friend who survived.
