The emotional letter, which was gone viral, was found in Netherton, West Midlands.

The grieving boy wrote how he missed her Sunday dinners and was proud to tell her he had been named player of the match for his football team.

The message on the envelope reads: "I was asked to write a letter to someone I care about in 2019. I wanted to write to my mum but she died in March. Maybe it will find its way to heaven."

The letter reads: "I really think your the best mum ever and I really miss you and wish you was still here to me feel ok again."

He also wrote about how he tries to talk to her every night before confessing he cries everyday.

Harry wrote: "Sometimes I talk to you at night even though you never talk back. I wish you did.

"If you come back, I would eat all of my broccoli and sprouts and I would clean my room, not be gobby and help you do everything."

"I still cry everyday but I don't tell anyone."

Speaking about the letter, Harry's dad Rich said his wife died unexpectedly and his son had been struggling with grief.

When he met with a grief counsellor they suggested Harry should write a letter to express his feelings, but it would be his choice on whether or not it to share it.

Harry put a stamp on his letter and went to Netherton Park with his dad to leave it on a bench.

Rich told the : "It was gone within a day and I thought either kids had taken it, it had blown away or the cleaner had took it.

"I didn't expect to see it ever again, so it was a pleasant surprise to hear that it was posted online.

"It was merely a way to help Harry cope and I didn't know it would touch so many's hearts - but I'm happy that it has."

Rich said writing the letter helped his son and added: "He helps me get through it every day seeing how he soldiers on through the heart ache. He's an inspiration."

To my mum:

I really think your the best mum ever and I really miss you and wish you was still here to me feel ok again.

I got a player of the match in football and wanted to show you, but I showed Helen who is staff, she said you would be proud!!!

I miss your Sunday dinner and your jokes and when you taken me shopping when I got upset at school.

Sometimes I talk to you at night even though you never talk back, I wish you did.

If you would come back I would eat all my broccoli and even sprouts and I will clean my room and not be gobby and help you do everything.

I don't know what to say mum, I really miss you a lot and will think about you Christmas.

I still cry everyday but I don't tell no one as they don't know what it's like to miss you.

You are my bestest mate ever and I will never be happy Harry again.

I hope that heaven is pretty with lots of wine and chocolate and flowers.

I miss you always and see you when I am old.

I love you from Harry x
