Plenty of Fish teen Googled ‘I’m going to kill someone tonight for fun’ before strangling date with vibrator cable
A TEEN who strangled her date to death with a vibrator cable after Googling 'I'm going to kill someone tonight for fun' has been found guilty of manslaughter.
Jamie Lee Dolheguy was initially charged with murder over the death of an Indian student at a house during July 2018 who she met via the online dating app Plenty of Fish.
But a Supreme Court jury of 11 in Melbourne, Australia, instead found today she was guilty of manslaughter after her barrister questioned whether she had "murderous intent."
Her online profile outlined she was dating for the first time, had borderline personality disorder, suicidal thoughts and extreme fetishes including bondage.
“We’ll do whatever you want,” Maulin Rathod told Dolheguy via text before he drove over.
But while the 24-year-old was on his way, the 18-year-old went online and searched “I’m going to kill someone tonight for fun” and “I will kill someone tonight, I want to commit murder”.
Dressed in a fancy dress costume, Dolheguy discussed choke play with her victim, prosecutor Patrick Bourke told the jury at the beginning of the trial.
She then choked her victim before wrapping the cable around his neck and strangling him, the court was told.
The killer immediately phoned police and confessed,
“He came, he didn’t seem scared. I strangled him. He’s on my bed. It feels so good. I don’t want to be a killer,” she told a police officer.
According to her testimony from a police interview outlined to the court, she described Maulin as "skinny" and "happy to learn" about choke play.
"I told him that I...that I wouldn't let him out of the house and he said he didn't care," Dolheguy later told detectives investigating the death.
She asked him if he realised how close her hands were to his threat before saying: "What if I – what would you do if I were to never let go, are you strong enough to pull me off?"
"And he was like, 'I'm pretty strong,' and I'm like, 'Could we test the theory?' and he's like, 'Yeah, as long as you don't hurt me,'" she told cops.
According to her testimony to detectives she then choked Maulin while wrapping her legs around his body so he could not move.
Her defence lawyer told jurors Dolheguy had a difficult upbringing and had experienced extreme abuse that forced her into care from the age of 10.
She has a personality disorder and history of self-harm and suicide attempts.

From the age of 14, she lived with full-time carers but that provision was removed when she turned 18 and she lived alone.
“Ms Dolheguy was so damaged, and her mind was in such chaos that you couldn’t be satisfied she had murderous intent,” defence barrister Sharon Lacy explained.
Her mind was a was “a torrent of terrifying thoughts and emotions”.
Now aged 20, Dolheguy will face a pre-sentence hearing in April next year.
