A DAD spent six months and £1,500 making his son a Lego-themed bedroom filled with 100,000 of the bricks.

Adam Hood, 36, also built Michael, four, a bunk bed with 200 wooden dots stuck to it to look like the blocks.

Colourful models made from Lego sets he bought from car boot sales and charity shops are displayed all over the room.

Some Lego, including Adam’s from childhood, is in buckets for Michael and his sister Roseanne, eight, to play with.

Adam, who is married to nurse Samantha, 31, in Bromsgrove, Worcs, said: “Michael and I are both massive Lego fans and when he got to see the room for the first time he was gobsmacked.”

The factory worker added: “It’s been a bit of a case of trial and error but I’m proud of how it turned out. Samantha thought I’d never finish!”

"I have always been a massive fan of Lego from when I was a kid. The thing I love so much about it is you can do anything you like – the only limit is your imagination."

"It was hard work without a doubt, but it's definitely paid off."

He scoured car boot sales and charity shops for new Lego packs – buying tens of thousands of bricks.

Adam captured his son's reaction on video after keeping Michael out of the room for the last eight weeks.

His eight year-old daughter, Roseanne, was also caught on camera throwing a jealous strop.

She is now demanding her own ‘animal disco’-themed space.

And while wife Samantha, 31, a nurse, was exasperated at the length of time the project took, Adam said she was proud of him for seeing it to completion.

He estimates if he had been working on the project for eight hours every day, it would still have taken him three months to finish.
