THE SUN SAYS

Corbyn and his comrades have proved that they simply don’t get this country – they must quietly slip into obscurity

IF Jeremy Corbyn truly was a “decent man”, he’d be grovelling to the dozens of Labour MPs who lost their jobs last week.

He isn’t. So instead he’s issued an inadequate non-apology, claiming responsibility for his “share” of the defeat.

Corbyn's disastrous leadership, plans for Brexit and the economy along with Labour's antisemitism and hate for our beloved country cost him dearly — but he conveniently shirks responsibility

His share?! His disastrous leadership was cited as the most popular reason for not voting Labour, followed by HIS nonsensical Brexit policy, then HIS barmy plans for the economy.

He and his crackpot advisers are entirely to blame for Labour’s worst electoral performance in 84 years.

Sadly for millions of decent Labour voters, that’s not how Corbynistas see it.

As Emily Thornberry has apparently made clear, in their eyes the electorate was too uneducated and bigoted to grasp the wonders of “real change”.

Well, we’ve got news for the Marxist clowns.

It doesn’t take a fancy degree from a top university to know an IRA-supporting, Britain-hating anti-Semite when you see one.

Or to understand that a politician who promises endless freebies is clueless about economics.

Corbyn and his comrades have proved that they simply don’t get this country.

They must quietly slip into obscurity.

Fossilised fee

THE SUN is delighted that Boris Johnson plans to decriminalise non-payment of the BBC licence fee.

When we all depended on the Beeb for entertainment, forcing viewers to cough up was just about defensible.

But in 2019, when many Brits are getting their dramas from Netflix and their sport from Sky, it emphatically is not.

It’s downright shocking that good citizens from poor households are getting criminal records for such a trivial non-offence. And ludicrous that courts are wasting precious time prosecuting them.

The pompous and patronising BBC is losing relevance by the day.

A system that locks up those who don’t pump their hard-earned cash into its bloated coffers is clearly broken.

Blight-hall

BORIS Johnson has hit the nail on the head: rotten Whitehall is ripe for reform.

In almost any other line of work, if you do a bad job, you’re out on your ear.

But because it’s practically impossible to sack civil servants, hundreds of sub-par paper-pushers are retiring with a £60,000-a-year pension — an eye-popping 94 per cent higher than the national average.

The four core values of the civil service are honesty, impartiality, integrity and objectivity — all noble principles that have been unceremoniously cast aside by the scaremongering Remoaners currently roaming Whitehall.

The Prime Minister’s bold plan to give them the chop is an excellent sign that this Government means business.
