Wildlife authorities have warned residents to stay indoors after the horrific death.

The Kenya Wildlife Service launched a search operation to locate and sedate the lion.

MAULED TO DEATH

They said in a statement: "We urge members of the public to stay calm and not to venture out at night until the lion is captured."

The victim's found the lion feeding on his remains on Monday morning, according to local news website .

His head and arm were all that remained at the scene,  reported.

His brother told local news:  “Some parts of his body were scattered on the ground.

“His employer tried to scare away the lion but it could not leave.”

Local residents told the outlet the lion had killed over 30 dogs and livestock in the area.

The park is ringed by electric fencing in parts but is not entirely sealed off, enabling traditional migration by game in search of grazing.

In March 2016 a lion was shot dead after it escaped from the park and attacked and injured a man. It was the fourth time that year that lions had roamed outside the reserve.

The male lion was eventually returned to the park.

A month earlier, in February 2016, two lions spent a day wandering through Kibera, before returning to the park, and more lions were spotted in town just days after the ordeal.
