Toddler died after going back into burning house to try to save his puppy
A TODDLER died trying to save his beloved puppy from a deadly house fire when he ran back into the burning building.
Lokey Nicholi Mason Sharp, 1, died at his home in Arkansas when he went back into the inferno to save the family pet and died.
Gentry Fire Chief confirmed that Lokey’s parents Kurtis and Caitlin were outside their home at the time of the blaze last Saturday, reports .
While calling for help and dousing the flames, they lost track of the little tot who had run back inside to save his dog.
Kurtis said his son was unable to save the puppy who “died trying to protect [Lokey] from the fire,” according to .
“I just wanna stop here and say never take your children for granted,” he wrote in a heartbreaking Facebook post.
“Cherish every waking moment with them!!!! We love u [sic] bubba and we know your [sic] in a better place!!!!”

Kurtis posted another emotional status today, urging friends and family to “keep us high in your prayers tomorrow.”

On Sunday, Lokey’s grief-stricken grandmother shared a set up to help out his bereaved family.
“Michael A Phillips and I at our young age could be the proudest grandparents to say we have a Bakers Dozen,” she said.
“Sadly we both are suffering a horrible tragedy in our life. Our son Kurtis Patrick Sharp not only lost everything but he lost his 2 year old son in a fire.
“We are asking from the bottom of everyone’s [heart] to help Kurtis out.”
Lokey’s grandfather Michael also shared the , imploring people to assist their devastated family.
“Not only did [Kurtis] lose his youngest son, but everything in the house fire,” Michael said.
“If you feel the spirit of giving, please help us take care of our son in this time of tragedy.”
Meanwhile, a page has also been established to donate to Lokey’s funeral expenses.
