Mohammed is said to be one of the men seen in shocking footage as they tried to disarm the knife-wielding henchman, who killed two people including Jack Merritt, 25, and injured another three.

But he calmly returned to work after taking on convicted terrorist Khan, 28, who was released from jail in December, 2018.

Police are believed to have interviewed the courageous kitchen porter as a witness after the area was put on lockdown and his bar closed.

Speaking close to the murder scene last night, Mohammed's boss told Sun Online: "He was there. He held the guy down.

"The terrorist was pinned down to the floor.

"He was on his break. He came back afterwards to work.

"He didn't say anything. He went back to work. He was washing dishes."

The heroes were praised for their fast actions by the Queen, Boris Johnson and Sadiq Khan as footage of the terrifying encounter was released.

In one video, a man named only as Lukasz is thought to be a Polish chef who grabbed a 5ft whale tusk from the wall and gave the attacker "a beating."

Another man is then seen spraying Khan with jets of foam and water from a fire extinguisher as he flails and slips on the bridge.

The video then shows the the attacker to the floor. At the time none of the men were aware that the suicide vest Khan was strapped into was a hoax as they battled to bring him down.

Two other men who helped to catch the attacker were fearless tour guides Thomas Gray, 24, and Stevie Hurst who jumped out of their car to help.

A British Transport police officer in plain clothes bravely picked up one of the knives from the floor and carried it away from the attacker.

Khan was shot dead at the scene by police at 2.03pm just five minutes after the attack started.

Questions have now emerged around how the terrorist - who was wearing a monitoring tag during the attack - was released automatically on licence 11 months ago.

Khan, from Staffordshire, was known to authorities and was convicted in 2012 for terrorism offences.

He was released from jail on licence last December and wore a fake suicide jacket during Friday's shocking attack in the capital.

Khan had attended an event on Friday afternoon at Fishmonger’s Hall called ‘Learning Together’.

Police said the attack began inside the hall before Khan fled onto London Bridge, where he was shot dead by armed cops.

The suspected Islamic knifeman was a guest at a Cambridge University conference on prisoner rehabilitation when he threatened to blow up the historic Fishmongers' Hall.

He is also believed to have been wearing a tag when he went on his bloodthirsty mission in the heart of London just before 2pm yesterday.

The attack comes 15 months after the capital was gripped by terror when a man ploughed into cyclists outside the Houses of Parliament in August, 2018 - and two years on from the London Bridge terror attack that killed eight in 2017.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson today visited the scene of the attack, saying he believed the criminal justice system "simply isn't working".

The attack came weeks after the UK's terrorism threat level was downgraded to "substantial" from "severe", meaning attacks were thought to be "likely" rather than "highly likely".
