Jeremy Corbyn is danger to national security and unfit to become Prime Minister warns former MI6 chief

THE former head of MI6 has Jeremy Corbyn would pose a threat to national security if ever elected Prime Minister.

Sir Richard Dearlove, who was head of the spy agency for 38 years, said that the Labour leader’s past political associations means he can’t be trusted to access to sensitive information.

Corbyn was granted access by communist East Germany to go behind the Iron Curtain in the 1970s.

He travelled with his then-lover, and now Shadow Home Secretary, Diane Abbott.

Corbyn also attended a wreath-laying ceremony for Palestinian terrorists who castrated and murdered Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics.

Writing in the Mail on Sunday Sir Richard said Corbyn’s involvement with extremists and his admiration for Eastern bloc countries during the Cold War present a risk.

So does his association with close advisers, former member of the Communist party Andrew Murray, and Seumas Milne, a long-time supporter of the Palestinian cause.

All are “compromised by their past”, said Sir Richard.

“We are faced with the possibility that a leader of the Labour Party who once preferred East Germany’s political and economic model of government, could become Prime Minister,” he said.

Do not even think of taking the risk of handing this politician the keys to No 10.

Sir Richard Dearlove

“Corbyn, Murray and Milne have at times each denigrated their own country and embraced the interests of its enemies and opponents.

“The political company they have kept has been authoritatively documented.”

The former spy chief said that neither Corbyn nor his close advises would ever have been allowed to work for the UK’s national security agencies because they would have been disqualified.

“As a democratically elected leader he would bypass the vetting procedures.

“Corbyn as Prime Minister, together with his current advisers, could be a present danger to our country.

“When vital national security interests are at stake, the political facts of his past cannot be airbrushed out.

“Politicians should have to live with their political record, and Corbyn’s, whatever political views he may claim to hold today, rules him out as someone suitable to be our Prime Minister.

“Do not even think of taking the risk of handing this politician the keys to No 10.”
