Brits think election will result in hung parliament but Tories will get most seats, poll reveals

BRITAIN now thinks a hung parliament is the most likely outcome, with the Conservatives the biggest party.

Pollsters Ipsos MORI found the nation reckon the Brexit nightmare is set to continue, with no party winning an outright majority.

They revealed 30 per cent of Brits think Boris Johnson will get more seats than Jeremy Corbyn, but still not enough for an outright majority.

In yet another blow to the leftie leader, just 11 per cent think Labour will take enough seats to form a majority, compared to 27 per cent who back the Tories.

It comes just hours after the ITV debate which Mr Johnson won according to just 51 per cent of viewers.

The poll now suggests Britain is once again heading for a hung parliament, two years on from Theresa May's flop snap election.

Ipsos MORI also found leaving the EU was no longer the biggest issue for the nation, being overtaken by the NHS.

Surging six points since last week,  the NHS is now the top issue for 60 per cent of voters, beating out Brexit on 56 per cent.

This was followed by care for older and disabled people, as well as crime and anti-social behaviour, both on 32 per cent.

Ipsos MORI Research Director Keiran Pedley said: “Our campaign tracker shows that nothing has fundamentally changed in the second week of the campaign in terms of public opinion.

"There are some signs of Labour improving slightly, reflected in voting intention polls too, but they are still a long way off where they need to be to stop the Conservatives returning to office after the election.

"That being said, with three weeks to go, there is still time for Labour to turn things round following the upcoming manifesto launches and series of leaders debates.”
