A FORMER model caged for helping the 21/7 bombers was awarded £1.4million in legal aid while battling justice.
Mulu Girma then got thousands more for her human rights fight to stay in the UK.
Ethiopian-born Girma, 35, got ten years’ jail for aiding a terror plot to bomb packed London commuter trains and a bus on July 21, 2005.
She hid her jihadi brother-in-law Hussein Osman and dressed his wounds after his failed bid to kill commuters.
Then she helped the would-be suicide bomber flee the country while refusing to tell police about the mass murder plan.
Shock figures obtained by Sun Freedom of Information checks now reveal she got £1,435,090 legal aid linked to her crown court trial in 2008.
The sum, including £1,020,390 for barristers and £360,770.54 for solicitors, would pay the wages of 62 NHS nurses for a year.
Figures also show Girma benefited from £30,162 in civil legal aid between 2009 and 2013 — and is understood to have won a battle to avoid deportation.
Harry Fletcher, of the Victims’ Rights Campaign, said last night: “The amounts given to perpetrators of terror in legal aid are huge compared to compensation to victims.”
Girma — full name Muluemebet Girma — was previously a Miss Brighton contestant, model and pharmaceutical science student.
The Home Office refused to confirm or deny if Girma’s application to remain was successful.
