Married man ‘kidnapped and suffocated 4ft tall lover before leaving her to die in desert and posing as her online’
A MAN has been charged with an alleged cross-country kidnapping and killing that saw him lure his disabled girlfriend into the desert, suffocate her and dump the body - before pretending to be the victim online, reports claim.

Chapman confessed on Friday to driving Feden from Bethel Park, a suburb of Pittsburgh, to Las Vegas, with the "potential of acquiring residence" there, according to a criminal reported obtained by .
He then confessed to later zip-tying four-foot-tall Feden's hands and feet to a signpost in the desert before suffocating her by duct taping her nose and mouth sometime around September 25, according to police.
Following Feden's disappearance, Chapman reportedly pretended to be the victim online, messaging her friends and family.
Feden's body is yet to be found, police said, but the remains of a woman matching her description were reportedly discovered by Nevada officials on October 5.
Chapman is also reported to have confessed the crime to his wife, Maureen Chapman.
She claims she had no idea of her husband's actions before she received a call from Bethel Park Police Department, telling : "He said he had murdered a woman. I was in disbelief."
She added: "Oh, my god, it's sick. It's really sick."
"I just want the truth as to what happened. I feel I'm owed that."
The revelations caused Maureen – who had been married to John almost one year – to question their entire relationship as a "double life,"; following past claims by Chapman that was visiting family and lying about his job.
Maureen told WXPI that she thought her husband had visited friends in Bethel Park before taking a truck to Vegas on a work trip.

According to reports, Chapman listed his wife as his sister on , and his bio reads: "I’m a 39 year old single guy from Pennsylvania. I’ve lived here most of my life. I'm always trying to meet new and interesting people."
Feden had VATER syndrome, a birth defect that resulted in her small size, and she and Chapman met around 2009 and had dated on and off ever since, Nikki Lawrence, a friend of Feden, told .
Lawrence said Chapman and Feden argued and that loved ones had been critical of the relationship.
Having not heard from her friend in a while, Lawrence – who last saw Feden on September 5 – said she now believes that responses she and Feden's family were receiving came from Chapman himself.
LIVING A 'DOUBLE LIFE'
Lawrence posted screenshots of Facebook of conversations she thought she was having with her 33-year-old friend – though these discussions were in October and Chapman reportedly confessed to driving Feden to Vegas sometime around September 25.
Feden's family would reportedly receive incorrect responses from Feden to answers that she would have known, too.
Lawrence messaged Feden to ask when Chapman's birthday was, so that she could check for any criminal history.
She said she then became wary of Chapman after he befriended her on Facebook and started commenting on her photos.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Chapman had been living in Oakland, Maryland.
He was reportedly at Feden's home at the time of his arrest, and along with a backpack full of zip ties and tape, police were said to have discovered Feden's phone.
Bethel Park Police Chief Timothy O'Connor told : "What I would say about her, she's a sweet, gentle, loving soul and she was taken advantage of by a predator."

O'Connor added: "I'd say this is one of the more strangest cases that I've encountered in my career and would also say that I think our victim is a very innocent person that was taken advantage of.
"I would say she struck me as a sweet, gentle soul and she was only around 4 feet tall and I think she was very compassionate. I think her compassion and generosity were taken advantage of in this case.'
"What he has said, is it, in fact, true? We're going to have to see if we can find Jaime, either living or deceased. And we're hoping that there's still a ray of hope that she is alive and that we can bring her back home safely."
