The Queen’s personal assistant is blasted by Buckingham Palace staff for tell-all book about the monarch’s corgis
A RIGHT royal row has erupted at Buckingham Palace over the publication of a book by the Queen’s personal assistant and dresser.
I can reveal Angela Kelly is in the process of attempting to write another officially sanctioned tell-all — this time about the Queen’s corgis.
The situation has prompted outrage from jealous staff within the Royal Household who claim Angela is cashing in while revealing too much about the monarch.
Courtiers are also furious she published a picture of the Queen relaxing on a day bed in the book and have questioned whether she was aware it would be included.
A royal source told me: “Angela Kelly’s book has caused genuine outrage at the Palace.
“Most staff working for the Queen — including many senior ones — are paid a relatively low salary and are expected to keep their royal secrets to the grave.
Now Angela has thrown out all of those traditions in order to pocket a handsome sum for herself.”
The new book on the royal corgis, which she is currently working on, has caused particular disquiet.
DOCKER'S DAUGHTER
Our insider explained: “If this most recent book had been a one-off it might have been accepted. However, now there’s another one coming about the corgis.”
Of particular interest is a picture of the Queen relaxing on a day bed that was published in the book, called The Other Side Of The Coin: The Queen, The Dresser And The Wardrobe and in Hello! magazine.
The source added: “There is a debate going on about whether the Queen was actually aware the picture was going to be published.
“But Angela is insistent she had full knowledge of everything before it was published. Nothing would have been a surprise to her and she is delighted with the results.
“It just feels like a very personal picture to have out there, which many of the traditionalists don’t think is appropriate.”
Some Palace staff have speculated that Angela’s life would make a great movie — from a docker’s daughter to closest confidante to the Queen.

But there are not believed to have been any negotiations for movie rights.
Tonight Buckingham Palace said: “The Queen was very involved in the process involved in the making of, and publication of The Other Side Of The Coin.
“It reflects the close 25-year working relationship between Ms Kelly and Her Majesty.”
