Philippines earthquake leaves ‘at least two dead’ as huge 6.6 magnitude tremor rocks Mindanao sending people fleeing
AT least two people have reportedly been killed after a huge 6.6 magnitude earthquake rocked the Philippines this morning.
Buildings shook violently as the huge tremor struck central Mindanao at 9:04am local time (1:04am GMT) on Tuesday.

Although there have been no official reports of injuries, local media reported at least two deaths linked with the quake.
A 15-year-old student was killed in Magsaysay, Davao del Sur - while a man suffered fatal head trauma in Koronadal City, South Cotabato, according to reports.
Panicked people fled from offices and schools as the first tremors struck 16 miles of Tulunan, Cotabato.
FLEEING IN PANIC
Residents in affected areas have been advised to remain outside the buildings amid fears of more deadly aftershocks.
Davao City - the hometown of President Rodrigo Duterte and among the most populous cities in the country - was also affected.
There were reports of Davao residents fainting in fear as power cables collapsed and buildings rocked.

Power cuts were reported in General Santos city while schools were suspended across the region.
Earthquakes are common in the Philippines, which is on the geologically active Pacific Ring of Fire.
On October 16, a magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck central Mindanao, killing five people and injuring dozens.
