Labour MPs could bring Boris Johnson’s Brexit bill back to Commons in a bid to reach a compromise
LABOUR MPs could bring Boris Johnson’s Brexit bill back to the Commons today to try to find a compromise plan to pass his deal.
They have drawn up a revised, two-week timetable to implement the PM’s deal by the middle of next month.
And today they will try to win an emergency debate and vote — known as an SO24 — on their plan.
They hope it will show the PM there is a Commons majority for a longer timetable but one that is still short enough to pass the deal by November 15.
That would enable the UK to leave the EU on November 30 under the new flextension offered by Brussels yesterday.
One of the MPs backing the plan said: “Surely it would be far better to get the deal done in this Parliament, then have an election about everything else and our future relationship with the EU.”

Another said: “No 10 is split between the cynics and the sensible people.
“The cynics believe the bill is not going to get through in any form that’s acceptable to them and it’s all a bit of a waste of time.
“The sensible people say, ‘So what if something gets through on the Customs Union — a majority Tory government after an election can just repeal it’.”
