Cop, 37, to sue Wickes after wooden shelves fell 10ft and crashed onto her during Storm Hannah
A COP is suing Wicks after a wooden shelving unit hit her head during Storm Hannah.
West Midlands officer Samantha Jones, 37, is demanding compensation from the DIY giant after the incident in April.
She claims she has been left bedbound with shoulder, back, and head injuries.
Samantha, who lives in Coventry with partner Michael and kids Emily, 15, and Joshua, 13, was smacked in the head by a falling piece of wood during a routine shopping trip.
The ambulance crew told her she would have DIED had the plank hit her at a different angle.
She said: "The last thing I remember was my partner picking up some plant pots which had been blown over.
COP 'COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED'
"Then the wood, a heavy, thick piece about 3ft by 4ft, hit me in the side of the head and knocked me out.
"I remember flashes in the ambulance but my first real memory is in the hospital, where I heard professionals discussing whether I should be sent to the major trauma unit or the resuscitation unit.
"It was then that I first thought: 'This could be really bad.
"I'm really, really stubborn and I hope it won't affect my career as a front-line police officer.
