Funky Friday rapper Fredo arrested by cops after boasting on Snapchat about wads of cash in his Range Rover

RAPPER Fredo has been arrested in London shortly after posting a Snapchat video of himself flaunting £50,000 in cash.

Plain-clothes cops arrested the 25-year-old - who had a 2018 number one hit as guest rapper on Funky Friday with Dave - as he drove his Range Rover through jewellery district Hatton Gardens yesterday.

The hip-hop star had shared a Snapchat video of him posing with wads of money before cops arrested him on suspicion of possession of criminal property.

A 26-year old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, theft and making threats to kill.

In the Snapchat video, Fredo said: “I can’t afford to bump into no hating police on the high road today, you know.

“You know what, I ain’t breaking no laws. Let me just strap 50 in.”

He is then seen placing a seat belt across piles of cash in the passenger seat.

But footage posted on social media showed the rapper’s car being searched by police before he was arrested.

Witnesses claimed cops seized a knife at the scene.

Police can be seen taking away an evidence container as the two men are arrested.

Fredo – whose real name is Marvin Bailey - shot to fame last year with single Funky Friday, which went straight to number one.

The London-born rapper’s mixtape Tables Turn was a top-10 hit in the album charts.

His debut studio album, Third Avenue, refers to the street he grew up on in Queens Park, West London.

In an interview with the Financial Times this year, he revealed he was “stabbed four times on one occasion”.

A Police spokesman told Sun Online: “Two men have been arrested following a pro-active vehicle stop by officers in Hatton Garden, EC1 at 14.03hrs on Wednesday, 16 October.

“The vehicle was searched and a quantity of cash was recovered.

“The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of possession of criminal property.

“A 26-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, theft and making threats to kill.

“Both men remain in custody pending ongoing enquiries.”
