Queen’s cousin claims she will suffer ‘exceptional hardship’ if banned from driving — because she won’t be able to drive to horse events
THE Queen’s cousin says she will suffer “exceptional hardship” if she is banned from driving after admitting three speeding offences in her Porsche 4x4.
Dressage rider Lady Tatiana Mountbatten, 29, claims she needs to keep her licence to get to horse events.
She was due to appear at Lavender Hill magistrates’ court, South London, but asked for the hearing to be delayed so all three offences could be dealt with on the same day.
Magistrate John Soones said: "The interests of justice are more likely to be served by all three maters being listed together.
"This bench has now decided to make an administrative adjournment."
Mountbatten, of Chelsea, West London, admitted speeding in her 2018 Porsche Macan at about 70mph in a 60mph zone three times in ten days in March.
She was appointed as an ambassador to the 'quintessential luxury British fashion' brand Crofton & Hall least year.
Her brother, Lord Henry David Mountbatten, escaped a driving ban in 2012 after telling the court he could not afford to take a taxi to his regular flying lessons.
She will be sentenced on December 6.
