THIS is the heart-stopping moment a Malaysian soldier squares up with a deadly King Cobra before picking it up by its head.
The alarming footage was taken by an onlooker as the soldier, from the Tentera Darat Army, walked down a dirt road.
An agitated King Cobra raises its head to the man's waist level as he confronts the reptile.
The brave squaddie, who is wearing a full green khaki uniform, stands with his hands on his hips as he stares down the snake - which appears to be more than six feet long.
He then bends his kneed slightly with his left arm behind his back and his right arm is raised above head.
The soldier then calmly leans forward.
The venomous snake remains still as the man gets closer and closer to the reptile.
His hand reaches the cobra's head and when he applies pressure to it the snake slowly bows its head.
The soldier then quickly wraps his fingers around the snake's head as it tries to wriggle free and he grabs its body.
