JIHAD ENOUGH

Jihadi bride Shamima Begum told to forget ever returning home to Britain

JIHADI bride Shamima Begum has been bluntly told to forget ever returning home to Britain.

The former schoolgirl who fled to join IS in Syria this week begged to be allowed back to receive therapy.

But the Home Secretary responded bluntly to her plea, saying: “No way, no way.”

Priti Patel said it was “quite reassuring” to see that Begum, now 19, was still in war-torn Syria.

She declared: “Our job is to keep our country safe. We don’t need people who have done harm and left our country to be part of a death cult and to perpetrate that ideology.

“We cannot have people who would do us harm allowed to enter our country – and that includes this woman.

“Everything I see in terms of security and intelligence, I am simply not willing to allow anybody who has been an active supporters or campaigners for IS in this country.”

Begum and two school friends, all aged 15 and 16, left the UK to join IS in Syria in 2015. She later married Dutch-born Yago Riedijk and spent more than three years living under the rule of the brutal group.

But in an interview this week, she claimed that all she did while living in the so-called caliphate was “make babies” – and pleaded to be allowed to return home.

She claimed her mental health is suffering and she now “hates” the terror group after the death of her three babies.

But Ms Patel stressed: “I don’t intend to let people like this inside our country.”

She went further and vowed to “stop gold-plating” our international obligations and “endangering the British public in the process”.

And she added that foreign national offenders would be deported, adding: “We don’t want you in our court system or our prisons.”
