Britain's bad motorists own BMWs, according to almost a quarter of UK adults
BMW drivers have been named as the worst on UK roads, according to 24 per cent of Brits.
Meanwhile, Ford Transit owners have escaped the unwanted title falling into second place ahead of black cabs.
The , which asked 2,000 UK adults who they perceived as the worst drivers.
Results were also broken down by age group, region and road user - in terms of car, motorbike, bicycle and van owners.
While three age groups between 18 and 44 years old believed BMW drivers are the worst, the older generations still blame the 'white van man' as disrupting UK roads.
Wales, the East Midlands, Northern Ireland and the South West also take aim at drivers of the German manufacturer - with other UK regions all naming Transit drivers as the worst.
However, the BMW blame was unanimous across all road users - and, perhaps unsurprisingly, the group with the highest amount of votes for BMW was van owners with 33 per cent.
While the BMW 3 Series was the fifth best-selling car in the UK last month, the Ford Transit Custom takes the top spot for vans.
Elsewhere in the survey, Ferrari owners were named as the worst supercar drivers, with Porsche following closely behind in the voting.
On the other hand, Lexus drivers are amongst the best on UK roads with only 1.5 per cent of the overall vote.
The study follows news earlier this year that crashes involving vans have fallen from 15,593 in 2006 to 13,125 a decade later, according to the Department for Transport.
This is despite vans travelling 10 billion miles more a year in the same time frame - a 22-per-cent increase fuelled by online shopping and deliveries.
One of the key reasons for the decrease in accidents involving vans is due to companies implementing better driver training and vehicle management programmes, according to GoCompare.
