A new £1.8million hypercar – inspired by a bird of prey – has been ridiculed for being ugly
The Milan Red has been branded as "vulgar" with the front-end likened to a mouth being blown open by wind
BESIDES being called Red and being painted white in its launch images, the £1.8million hypercar has raised a few eyebrows with its looks.
Built by new car manufacturer Milan Automotive, the incredible 1,325-horsepower car is inspired by the red kite bird - both in looks and in its driving modes.
Its "beaky nose" was one of the details picked out by the Top Gear's scathing first look at the car.
Having posted about the 'ugliness' of the Austrian newcomer, Twitter joined the thrashing of the Red's design.
One critic labelled it as being "sketched by a two year old", while another commented on the pictures as a "holistic level of ugly".
The hypercar was also likened to someone who is shouting and a mouth being blown wide open by wind.
However, many chimed in support of the Red, which has a top speed of almost 250mph, saying it looked "great" and "cool".
The lightweight V8 accelerates from 0-62mph in 2.47 seconds, pummelling a maximum of 2.6 G-force on its passengers.
The drive modes, meanwhile, can be switched between Glide, Hunt and Attack.
Only 99 models of the Red will be made and Milan claims that 18 people have already bought the hypercar.

Markus Fux, Milan Automotive CEO, said: "Nowadays you can drive an artistic car, a high-tech monster, a throne on four wheels - or a car that only serves one purpose: stealing the show.
"And this is where we come into play."
The 36 year old was formerly a NASCAR driver before starting up the car firm in 2012.
