Goodwood Festival of Speed 2019 – Location, tickets, event map and which supercars are on display
THE Goodwood Festival of Speed has been dubbed the "largest motoring garden party in the world", and it kicks off TODAY.
And this year's event is promising to be the most thrilling yet for motor enthusiasts.
When is the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2019?
The festival runs from Thursday, July 4, until Sunday, July 7.
It gathers together the best mix of rare, glamorous and high-powered cars, celebrities and motorsport "royalty" from all over the globe.
And this year, UK fans will see a massive collection of the world's most insane supercars.
The theme for Goodwood 2019 is Speed Kings – Motorsport’s Record Breakers.
What supercars are on display at Goodwood?
There are a number of stand-out motors at this year's Festival of Speed.
Here's which vehicles will make you roar in 2019.
Mercedes-Benz C11
Powered by a mighty 5.0-litre, turbocharged V8, the sculpted C11 looks more aggressive than its predecessor.
It was also apparently better to drive than the C9, and experts believe that had it entered the LM24 that year, it would have won.
Ferrari 166MM/212 Export 'Uovo'
There's a reason this extraordinary vehicle is nicknamed"Uovo" or the "egg".
Underneath the exterior is another Ferrari 166MM. After it crashed in its first attempt its original buyers, the Marzotto brothers, decoded to rebuild it in this form.
Sculptor Franco Reggiani created its special bodywork, creating a shape he likened to that of a plane without wings.
The good-looker raced for the first time in 1951 and will be put into action once more this year, looking just as fresh as it did nearly 70 years ago.
Aston Martin Project cars
Organisers are ecstatic to have not one, or two, but THREE Aston Martins in the show.
DP212, DP214 and DP215 are all ‘Project’ cars and the maker's attempts to return to the heights of its 1959 Le Mans and World Sportscar Championship-winning season.
Based on a cut-down DB4 chassis and with its engine bored from 3.7- to 4.0-litres this was Aston Martin’s gentle look at a full return to Le Mans.
Aston Martin Rapide E
Aston Martin is this year's Central Feature celebrating the 70th anniversary of Aston Martin’s first race at Goodwood.
The Rapide E is Aston Martin's first all-electric production car.
It has an 800V electrical powertrain architecture delivering 450kW of power and over 950Nm of torque.
It has a maximum speed of 155mph and there are only 155 of them.
Aston Martin DBS
Aston Martin's latest model is the DBS Superleggera Volante.
It has a brutal 5.2-litre V12 which thumps out 715bhp and has a top speed of 211mph.
Koenigsegg Jesko
This Swedish motor has a 5litre, twin turbo V8 engine.
It is named after Jesko von Koenigsegg, the father of company founder and CEO, Christian von Koenigsegg.
Radical Rapture
This road legal car is powered by a reworked version of Ford’s 2.3-litre four-cylinder EcoBoost engine.
It features a pair of padded bucket seats with six point racing harnesses and the dashboard also houses an LCD display with data-logging functions and a multifunction steering wheel.
Honda E
This electric car from Honda has a Side Camera Mirror System and only one pedal.
The powerful electric motor drives the rear wheels to give you better "steering feel" under high acceleration.
The charging point is integrated into the bonnet with the charging status clearly displayed to the driver by LED.
Others at the show...
- Ferrari P80/C
- W Motors Fenyr SuperSport
- Porsche 911 Singer
- Dendrobium D-1
- Apollo Intensa Emozione
- Prato Orage
- De Tomaso Project P

When and where is the Festival of Speed on?
The Festival of Speed is held at Goodwood House in Chichester, West Sussex, about a mile away from Goodwood Circuit and Goodwood Racecourse.
It kicks off TODAY, July 4 and runs through to Sunday, July 7.
Make sure you leave plenty of time to arrive at the event, as the area's narrow roads often get rammed with traffic around the festival.
There are free car parks available that are a 20-minute walk from the event gates, and designated spots for motorcycles.
But parking is on grass, so it might not suit low cars.
For those travelling by public transport, trains run directly from London to Chichester, then it's just a short taxi or bus ride to the event.
