Ford reveals plans for real-life Batmobile with a hidden motorbike inside – just weeks after Robocop project uncovered

A Ford patent has shown a hatchback designed with a built-in motorbike that can be deployed on its own - and rather than fight crime it could help you dodge parking and emissions charges

FORD has revealed wacky plans to create a real-life Batmobile - and it comes with its own hidden motorbike.

The car giant recently published an official patent for a "vehicle with an integrated electric motorcycle" - with designs looking just like The Dark Knight's ride.

The concept vehicle appears to be a similar shape to a regular Ford Focus hatchback, but it comes with a very unique twist.

According to the patent, the car will include a built-in electric motorbike that can be deployed through the bonnet.

Drawings are similar to the Tumbler used in the Batman trilogy but rather than fight crime the car has been designed to tackle urban parking and air pollution.

While the main car itself seems relatively normal, the motorbike will allegedly make up part of the centre console.

Ford's Batmobile concept suggests the bike will be able to deploy automatically through the front of the car, and will be fitted with a rechargeable battery to power the electric motor.

Ford's official patent describes the concept vehicle as: “A multi-modal transportation apparatus comprising a passenger car with a driver seat, a passenger seat and a centre console.

"A motorcycle equipped with and autonomously driven by an electric motor; and a securing apparatus that releasable, fixedly secures the motorcycle to the passenger car.

"The motorcycle is arranged between the driver seat and the passenger seat in a direction of travel.”

If the car ever becomes more than a sketch, the car maker claims it could solve drivers' frustrations with a lack of parking, and also help motorists dodge congestion charges.

For example, those commuting to London would be able to drive to an area outside of the city to park, deploy the motorbike and ride in on the environmentally friendly gadget.

The reveal comes just three months after Ford revealed a new concept for a driverless police car.

The "Robocop" concept was released after the company filed a patent for a vehicle that used artificial intelligence to hunt down drivers breaking the law.

According to the patent, cameras and wireless sensors would allow the vehicle to track cars and connect over wifi to let them know they've broken the law.

Designed specifically to interact with autonomous vehicles, the Robocop motor would used as a remote surveillance device, and could even call for back up.

The patent reveals it could even drive itself to hunt down rogue motorists - or be used with an officer inside.
