A LIMITED edition Ferrari is set to sell for £1million – triple its value from just two years ago.

The F12tdf cost £350,000 in 2016 but has already soared in price due to its rarity and is now heading to auction.

Just 799 of the supercars were ever made with each paying tribute to Ferrari’s dominance of the Tour de France cycling race in the 50s and 60s.

Each one was sold to exclusive clients and well-known Ferrari favourites with petrolhead celebs like Gordon Ramsay on the list.

It’s one of the fastest Ferraris with a stunning 211mph top speed thanks to its 6.3-litre V12.

That engine produces 780bhp with a 0-62mph time of just 2.9 seconds and 0-124mph time of 7.9 seconds.

This is backed up by its performance on the track – it lapped Ferrari’s test facility in Fiorano in just 1 minute 21 seconds, which was quicker than the legendary Enzo hypercar.

It also has incredible brakes which will stop the tdf at 62mph in just 30.5 metres.

The F12tdf became an instant hit with collectors and fans sending prices soaring immediately.

It’s even described by auctioneers at Bonhams as one of Ferrari’s “all-time great, front-engined supercars”.

The one for sale is a yellow, 2016 model with the Goodwood Members’ Meeting auction expected to attract a raft of Ferrari aficionados.

The right-hand drive car has only covered around 150 miles since it was registered on October 31, 2016.

Tim Schofield, head of UK motoring department at Bonhams, said: “Nobody could ever have accused the Ferrari F12 of needing more power, but Maranello gave it anyway in the form of the F12tdf.

“This beast houses one of the most powerful engines ever installed in a Ferrari road car, making it faster round a test track than either the Enzo or the 599 GTO.

“Combine this with the muscular yet unmistakably ‘Ferrari’ design of the tdf and it is easy to see why this supercar has increased in value since its launch 2 years ago.

“It is a supercar in the truest sense of the word, and the value increase reflects that. A rare car and a rare phenomenon.”

The Ferrari F12tdf will be auctioned on March 18 at Goodwood in West Sussex.
