Jaguar’s all-electric SUV spied testing as it completes 200-mile US roadtrip on single charge – and you can buy it NEXT YEAR
Jaguar's luxury all-electric model has been spotted completing its final testing in the US. And it will be on British roads by mid 2018
JAGUAR'S brand new entry to the electric car market has been spotted conducting final testing in Los Angeles.
Due to be revealed globally in early 2018, the Jaguar I-Pace recently completed a 200-mile journey from Los Angles to San Luis Obispo on a single charge of its lithium-ion battery as part of a long distance range test.
The I-Pace was first revealed in late 2016 as a concept vehicle at the Los Angles Auto Show.
Since then, the British-owned manufacturer has run testing with more than 200 production prototypes, travelling 1.5 million miles over 11,000 hours.
Orders for the new electric motor open in March next year, with the motor expected to reach high demand in the UK market.
Fitted with two fully-electric motors, the I-PACE's engine boasts 400bhp, with a top speed of 120mph.
Capable of 0-60mph in just four seconds, the sedan is expected to fetch around £60,000 from new.
Ian Hoban, Jaguar Vehicle Line Director, said: “After 1.5 million global test miles, the I-PACE is ready for production and is proven to deliver long distances on a single charge.
"Jaguar's first battery electric vehicle will also be fast to charge; our target is a zero to 80 per cent charge being achievable in a short break."
