Lewis Hamilton unveils new 217mph Mercedes F1 – and the £2million road car is already sold out

Triple world champion Hamilton helped pulled the covers off the much-anticipated 1,000bhp hypercar

LEWIS HAMILTON has helped unveiled the new Mercedes hypercar.

The triple world F1 world champion was the star attraction at the launch of the 1,000bhp Project One concept.

Lewis described the car as 'incredible'

The Project One hypercar can do 0-124mph in less than 6 seconds with much of the tech taken straight from Hamilton's F1 racer.

Lewis said: “Mercedes has created history here.

“It’s incredible.

“Nobody has really done this the right way before.

“I’m hoping to have the first one.

“That’s the first time I have sat in the car and when the engine started I had the same grin as I have in the pit lane.”

Mercedes is building 275 cars at £2million a pop to celebrate 50 years of its high performance arm AMG.

They are sold out already.

It can do 16 miles on pure electric.

A Merc spokesman said: “It doesn’t need any special oils and you don’t need a pit crew to run it.”
