Toyota announces UK scrappage scheme with discounts of up to £4,000 off a new car when you trade-in your old motor
TOYOTA has launched its own scrappage scheme to mirror rivals offering thousands off new models if they ditch their dirty cars.
Drivers can net up to £4,000 off a new Toyota until December 31 - as long as they've owned their current car for six months.
The Toyota scrappage scheme is open to any cars that are older than seven years old - meaning all dirty pre-Euro 5 models can be removed from the road.
Toyota is offering deals across most of its range including its best-selling hybrid models like the Prius.
Discounts range from £2,000 off the Aygo up to £4,000 off a Land Cruiser - with additional savings made when twinned with the plug-in grant.
Rivals BMW, Mercedes, Hyundai, Vauxhall and Ford have also brought in schemes in the last month offering incentives to buy new, clean cars and replace older, dirtier models.
And VW - including Audi, SEAT and Skoda - have announced scrappage schemes worth up to £10,000 when combined with the government's plug-in grant.
