Saucy car registrations set to be a thing of the past as the DVLA outlaws a number of offensive combinations
CAR registration bosses have outlawed a number of offensive combinations from the new 67 number plate out next month.
They include OR67 ASM, DO67 GER, and BA67 ARD, according to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).
The arrival of the ‘67’ number plate in September presents a range of possibilities for offensive words to the creative motorist, said Auto Express magazine.
So the DVLA has vetoed a raft of combinations before they appear.
Number plates such as DO67 GER (dogger), BA67 ARD (bastard), OR67 ASM (orgasm) and DO67 SHT (dogshit) are examples of banned combinations.
DVLA officials meet twice a year to decide which number plates should be banned because of their explicit nature or potential to be politically, racially or religiously offensive.
The DVLA said the list of banned numbers with the new ‘67’runs to 10 pages and hundreds of combinations.
A DVLA spokesman said: “There’s nothing scientific about it.

“It’s all done by taste and if some slip through the net and we get a complaint, we take the feedback on board.”
Car number plates now change in March and September of each year.
And believe it or not there is a hidden meaning to car number plates - it's not just a jumble of gobbledegook.
In fact registration plates are probably more important than you think - with not displaying a plate properly landing drivers with a £1,000 fine.
