Lamborghini has built an acoustic test room dedicated to making its cars sound sexier
Next generation Lamborghini Huracan and the new Urus will be fine-tuned in the multi-million pound test centre
IF you're buying a £150,000 Lamborghini Huracan it can't just look the part - it's got to sound it too.
Thankfully, the Italian bosses at Lambo understand this and have invested in a new room at their factory designed exactly for hearing the engine purr.
The acoustic test room is part of a multi-million pound investment into its Bologna plant.
It might not look much but the sound-proofed rectangle will help develop one of the key selling points of a supercar.
The room will allow engineers to fine tune the engine note so the V10 and V12 motors sound perfect whether you're cruising through the Italian mountains or the French Riviera.
Development cars will pull into the new acoustic centre which has been completed to the "latest technical standards".
With new lightweight materials being introduced into production of future vehicles, it'll help engineers tweak the noise of Lamborghinis of the future.
A Lamborghini spokesman said: "The sound of a Lamborghini represents one of the most emotive experiences attached to the super sports car marque.
"The acoustic test room allows adjustment of particular sound sensations in order to create the typical Lamborghini driving experience, involving all the senses.
"The new facility will additionally play an important role in the realization of future vehicle concepts and drive train systems."
The entire Sant'Agata Bolognese site has been expanded from 5,000m² to 7,000m² to cope with production of Lamborghini's super-SUV - the Urus.
