‘Holy Trinity’ of supercars – Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 GTR and Porsche 918 Spyder – to go under the hammer for £7m in auction sale

Deluxe sport cars are limited editions and each capable of more than 200mph

THREE of the world’s most sought after cars dubbed the ‘Holy Trinity’ are going under the hammer in a massive £7 million auction.

The bumper sale in Italy next month will feature a LaFerrari, a McLaren P1 GTR and a Porsche 918 Spyder.

These incredible motors are limited edition and can reach speeds of more than 200mph.

They boast a combined output of almost 3,000bhp and their value has rocketed from £3.8 million combined to nearer £7 million.

The RM Sotheby auction will be held on Lake Como in Italy on May 27.

Peter Wallman, the company’s European managing director, said: “When these three cars broke onto the scene they completely changed the way we viewed modern hypercars and indeed hybrid technology.

“From the P1 GTR, the ultimate P1 in road-specification, to the Porsche’s tremendous all-wheel-drive traction, and the LaFerrari’s incredible styling and outright speed, each is special in its own way.

“I’m delighted that RM Sotheby’s is the first auction house to assemble all three in a single sale, and can’t wait to see them take centre stage at Villa Erba next month.”

Auctioneers said the 2015 McLaren P1 GTR is a stripped down track version of the P1 converted for road use.

The 2014 LaFerrari up-for-grabs has been driven just 100 miles while the 2015 Porsche on sale is the only example produced in the manufacturer’s historic ‘Paint to Sample’ Arrow Blue.
