AN ICONIC Triumph TR6 has hit auctions for a bargain price after hours of restoration to make it race ready.

That’s around a third of what was spent to bring it back to its former glory.

The car, a head-turning red soft top with a powerful 2.6-litre engine, has been transformed into a race-ready machine.

The restoration included a full body overhaul, additional bracing, a removable roll cage, and a welded rear bulkhead.

It also boasts custom Ohlins, dampers, bespoke leather seats, AP racing brakes, a brand-new dashboard, a mohair hood, and modern LED lights.

It is currently listed for sale on Pistonheads by Classicwise Ltd in Eakring, Nottinghamshire, this Triumph TR6 is described as potentially “the best specification TR6 in existence.”

Originally a UK-supplied right-hand-drive model with a 150bhp CP chassis code, it remains a matching engine-to-chassis car, true to its factory origins.

The restoration, carried out by TR Enterprises in 2012, cost over £90,000 at the time.

Every detail was addressed, from the engine, gearbox and rear axle to the chassis, bodywork, electrics, brakes, suspension, and interior trim.

The result is a vehicle restored to an exceptionally high standard, ready to hit the road or the track.

While the price is higher than a standard TR6, the level of craftsmanship and the quality of the restoration make it a standout deal.

As one report puts it: “Given how much it would cost to replicate, the value on offer is plain to see.”

The Triumph TR6 is often compared to the iconic Jaguar E-Type, offering a similar classic British roadster experience with straight-six power but at a more accessible price point.
