MERCEDES-AMG have revealed a sleek new sports car that comes without a windscreen and can hit a remarkable top speed of 195 mph.

The oddly-designed motor was unveiled at the Formula 1 season finale in Abu Dhabi over the weekend - boasting an F1 car-styled HALO across the cabin.

Called the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed, the biturbo V8-powered machine delivers 577bhp - which translates to a 0-62mph time in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 195mph.

Because of the car’s lack of windscreen, the driver and passenger are given special helmets to wear to protect their head, which even come with built-in intercom systems - enabling communication between the occupants even at high speeds.

Visually, the PureSpeed somewhat resembles the Mercedes SL 63, but follows the design cues of rivals Ferrari and Aston Martin with the windscreen-less SP2 Monza and V12 Speedster respectively.

It also boasts air scoops behind the seats, transparent deflectors at the front, and the use of carbon fibre in components such as the 21-inch forged aluminium wheels.

It also appears to feature a very stylish red and black livery.

Mercedes say the PureSpeed marks the beginning of their new line of exclusive ‘Mythos’ cars - featuring design elements reminiscent of various historic racing models.

Only 250 units of the PureSpeed will be built, and its price is yet to be disclosed.

However, it’s expected to be higher than the £198,000 required for a fully equipped, range-topping SL63 ‘Ultimate’.

This comes as Mercedes recently showed off an extra special Lewis Hamilton-inspired line of G-Wagons - complete with a rectangular, race car-styled steering wheel.

The "Sir Class", unveiled by HOF, a brand known for making tuned versions of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, will cost buyers around £541,000 and only 11 will be produced.

Images show the car with a silver-to-black finish, inspired by the team’s racing colours, with Petronas Tiffany Green accents on the 23-inch wheels, wing mirrors, and throughout the interior.

The outline of the Yas Marina circuit, where the Abu Dhabi GP is held, is embroidered into the car’s headliner.

The stylish SUV can hit 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 186 mph, making it the fastest G-Wagon in history.

Merc also had a hand in an almighty new motorhome that was built by tuning company Brabus - known for their long-running association with the German brand.

Called the Big Boy 1200, this 12-metre long, 26-tonne motorhome is based on the Mercedes Actros truck and has been converted by Belgian specialist STX Motorhomes.

It features a full kitchen, luxury living room, and even heated flooring - all for a staggering £1million.
