A FIRST of its kind McLaren with a blistering top speed of 208mph will go on sale for £1million - and you could be the new owner.

The McLaren Senna is a carbon fibre design with a four-litre engine, named in tribute to legendary Brazilian racing driver Ayrton Senna.

The sleek grey design is entirely new and original with features that are rarely seen on the manufacturer's other models.

This beauty has a 7-speaker audio system and a bespoke ‘SS’ logos embroidered in the headrests.

The McLaren Senna features orange contrast stitching and MSO steering wheel with Alcantara and orange trim.

A visual roof canopy is also seen on the vehicle, something that McLaren do not often add to their designs.

The marvel is set to be auctioned on February 22nd at Stoneleigh Park in Coventry by Iconic Auctioneers.

The auction listing reads: “The chassis of the car is based around McLaren’s own 'Monocage III' tub and is constructed of lightweight materials and carbon fibre throughout for a combination of maximum stiffness and lightness.

“Each seat weighs a remarkable 3.6kg, the front wings weigh less than 700g and the enormous rear wing is less than 5.5kg.

“The Senna also uses an upgraded version of McLaren’s Race Active Chassis Control II system, which features an active double wishbone and hydraulic damper setup from the P1, allowing for variable ride height, damping and stiffness modes according to the driver’s desired setup.

“Retardation is achieved by Formula 1–inspired carbon brakes developed in partnership with Brembo, with discs that take seven months to make, each one with integrated cooling vanes and a thermal compound that is three times more conductive than conventional carbon-ceramic brakes."

It continues to outline the car's deft breaking system and unique connection to the racing legend.

It goes on: “So potent is the braking system, that the Senna currently holds the record for braking performance for production cars, 124mph to a standstill in just 100 metres, decelerating with a force of 2.1g.

“The McLaren Senna offered here is truly special, even within the context of being a Senna.

"This is XP01, VIN %230001, making it the very first Senna ever produced.

“XP01 has a full McLaren Service History with two major services undertaken by McLaren Manchester, the most recent being in June 2024, costing nearly £10,000 to ensure the car remains in perfect order throughout."

Ayrton Senna won three Formula 1 World Championships with McLaren between 1988 and 1993.

At the time of his death, he held the record for most pole positions (65), among others; he won 41 Grands Prix across 11 seasons.

Senna died on May 1 1994 whilst racing in the San Marino Grand Prix.

During the race, his car smashed into a concrete wall at 145mph, and died in hospital later that day.
