Why the Bugatti Chiron is the ‘true measure of muscle power’
The most anticipated car of the year, there is nothing even remotely like the Bugatti Chiron

THE Bugatti Chiron has undoubtedly been the most anticipated car of the year.
Labelled the world's fastest road car, motoring experts everywhere were queuing up to get their day inside the French automaker's successor to the Bugatti Veyron.
Top Gear's Chris Harris was the lucky first in line, claiming to be the first person in the world to drive the supercar.

His excited review aired on Sunday's episode of the British motoring show, but not before YouTube channel Carfection managed to cause a stir by releasing theirs to the public 24 hours earlier.
So why all the fuss over just another supercar?
Well, , the Chiron is like no supercar we have ever seen before: in fact, "there is nothing remotely like it".

Writing his first-hand online review, Mills claimed that while the £2.5 million price tag the Chiron carries may be a little steep for the average car enthusiast, for those that can afford it, it is worth every penny.
In terms of speed, it blows even the adored Veyron out of the water.
"Before driving the Chiron, I asked Wolfgang Dürheimer, the man in charge at Bugatti, if it’s noticeably faster than its predecessor," Mills wrote.
"'It smokes the Veyron,' he said.
"He has raced the two side by side, from a rolling start, and says the Veyron 'is a postage stamp in Chiron’s rear-view mirror' by the end of the five-mile straight at Volkswagen’s Ehra-Lessein test track."
It may be faster, but does it have the blistering power to match? Absolutely.
"The Chiron is capable of manipulating the skin on your face," Mills wrote.
"There is a grotesque helping of torque, with 1,180 lb ft from just 2,000rpm...
"This is the true measure of muscle power, and it’s what gives the car its character.
"Squeeze the throttle through just half of its travel and you will surge past slower traffic like Valentino Rossi on a superbike at full throttle."
And what of the exterior styling?
According to Mills, even James Bond would be impressed.
"This is a more exciting looking car than the Veyron, one that should do the job of rankling fellow superyacht owners in Monaco harbour," he wrote.
"The lower nose, menacing looking headlamps and broader shoulders give it a more muscular appearance, like Daniel Craig in a dinner jacket."
To top it all off, the Chiron combines sleek interior styling with simplistic engineering making it also a comfortable, low-speed cruiser that "even a grandparent could drive to Eastbourne for a day by the seaside."
