Watch grieving family perform lavish £4k funeral for their CAR with 1,500 people turning out for beloved Suzuki’s burial

THIS is the moment a car is laid to rest in a lavish funeral service with over 1,000 people showing up to pay their respects.
The solemn occasion in India was commemorating a Suzuki Wagon R, that had given 12 years of service to its owners on their farm.

Footage of the ceremony shows the trusty motor drenched in beautiful pink flowers on its roof, with yellow and orange streamers coming down its sides.
In a dramatically sombre moment, the faithful servant is slowly backed into a sloping 15ft grave, where it can finally rest in peace on the family farm in Amreli.
In a touching turn, 1,500 people turned up to watch the family pay their respects to their decade-old car.
Sanjay Polara, the owner of the motor, said: “I purchased this car nearly 12 years ago, and it significantly contributed to our family's prosperity.

"Not only did we achieve commercial success, but we also gained respect within our community.
“The car brought good fortune to both myself and my family.
“As a token of appreciation, I decided to give it a final resting place at my farm instead of selling it.”
A driver, possibly Sanjay, can be seen reversing the car back into its resting place.

The event cost £3,666, which hopefully covered more than just driving a car backwards into a ditch.
The car was adorned with marigold garlands and rose petals, and was carefully transported from the family home to a prepared site at the family's agricultural land.
Among the massive crowd, priests chanted mantras as they waved goodbye to someone else's car, and fellow mourners celebrated the car's life.

- Set a budget: It is easy to overspend in the heat of the moment during bidding. Ensure you have set a budget and do not go over it.
Key phrases to look out for:
- ‘No major mechanical faults’ – suggests that there shouldn't be any issues with the car's drivetrain, gearbox, suspension, or engine.
- ‘Specified faults’ – the auctioneer will read out specific faults.
- ‘Sold as seen’ – the vehicle is sold with any problems it may have. The auction company will rarely entertain complaints regarding the mechanical or cosmetic condition of these vehicles after sale.
- ‘Sold with a warranted mileage’ - The car is being offered based on the report, which confirms the mileage through an independent check.
According to reports, a tree will not be planted above the burial site.
It is not known exactly why this is the case, but possibly Sanjay thought the tree would be a step too far.
Pictures were taken, assumedly of the family, in front of their trusty vehicle before it was buried.
In preparation for the event, Sanjay sent out a four-page invitation to approximately 2,000 people in his village.
The invitation reads: “This car has been like a family member since 2006, and it brought us good fortunes.
"We gained prosperity, and our reputation in society was elevated.
"We want this car in our memory forever, and that’s why we have planned a samadhi (burial) of this car".
The footage of the car funeral sparked a mix of fascinated and humours reactions.
