A BELOVED car, the second-best selling in Britain, is set for a drastic makeover - as new pictures tease the bold look.

This will bring the car more in line with other models by the Korean manufacturer - including the Sorento and EV9.

It will draw on the brand's signature "Star-map" lighting design - which emphasise the wide horizontal dimensions of the vehicles it is used in.

The rear headlights will also get a facelift, according to the pictures.

The rest of the design appears largely similar - but with only a few teased images, further surprises could be in store.

Reports suggest, for example, that it will likely take cues from the techy-feel of the brand's electric range.

This may include the triple-screen infotainment arrangement found in the upcoming EV3.

The model, described in Top Gear as Britain's second bestseller, will likely come with an updated selling price too.

While some versions of the current model retail for less than £30,000, this is unlikely to be the case.

The more expensive versions, which currently exceed £45,000, are also likely to increase in price.

Experts are expecting the updated vehicle to be revealed at the Los Angeles motor show next month.

Kia release all-new Kia Sportage

It is not yet known when it will go on sale in the UK.

The update comes as the company discontinued its long-running Proceed model.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the brand said “The Proceed has been an important model for Kia in the compact family car segment, emphasising Kia’s strengths for quality, practicality and eye-catching design.

“However, right-hand-drive versions of the Proceed only account for a relatively small proportion of overall Ceed production and sales.”

Another beloved car, Morgan's Plus Six, has also been controversially axed.

But, in better news for motorheads, Jaguar announced its decision to bring back the world-famous E-Type - last produced 50 years ago.
