Late Queen’s customised open-top Land Rover set to fetch £80,000 at auction
THE late Queen’s customised Land Rover which has buttons to signal to the driver is tipped to sell for £80,000.
The green open-top 1978 Series III model was used for public engagements.
It was fitted with a handrail and glass screen so Her Majesty, who died in 2022, could stand up in the back.
It also had a traffic light red, amber, green system to let her signal to the driver when she wanted to move on, slow or stop.
Rear doors let her get on and off.
In a 2012 auction, it was sold, with under 2,000 miles on the clock, to the Anglo-German businessman Dean Kronsbein for £28,000.
